Village Fete raises over £1,300!

PEOPLE came from all around to enjoy the Manfield Summer Fete and Sports Day.

The event took place on the 7 June 2026 and saw a packed playing field with visitors enjoying a great range of stalls and and activiites.

People could hook a duck, shoot targets with a ‘nerf gun’, purchase some delicious bakes from the cake stall and turn their hand at the tombola.

The cake stall featured a range of cakes that were baked by locals and donated to the the event. Inside the hall there were a range of stalls alongside hot and cold refreshments. Outside a BBQ was cooking up a storm alongside a licensed bar for those who found themselves in need of refreshment.

The sports day began at 2.30pm out on the field with over 25 children taking part in egg and spoon, skipping, bean bag, sack and running races. The children received stickers for completing races and received sweets and a medal at the end of the event.

Following the races, the family rounders began, which was then followed by family cricket. Children and family members entered into the spirit of the occasion, showing a competitive spirit wanting to succeed over their spouse, parent, or sibling.

There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day and it was the largest attended to date. In 2025 the event raised over £800, however this year saw over £1,300 being raised after costs.

Funds raised will go to Manfield Parochial Church and proportion of funds will support the up keep of the playing field equipment (subject to application and approval by the PCC)
